The Good Old Days Concerts invites you to “…Come fly with…” Australia’s star of screen and stage, TOM BURLINSON, and his fabulous big-band of this country’s top musicians as he salutes the legendary masters of vocal swing: Frank Sinatra, Nat ‘King’ Cole, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr, Bobby Darin, and the swing superstars of today – Harry Connick Jr and Michael Bublé.
Tom Burlinson’s illustrious career stretches from acting and singing, to television host and theatrical producer. He first shot to stardom in the ’80s when he was cast in the title role in the box office hit, The Man from Snowy River, which became one of the most successful Australian films ever made. This led to a string of starring roles in movies such as Phar Lap, Eureka Stockade, Flesh and Blood, The Legend of Kootenai Brown, The Man from Snowy River II, and many more.
Following on from his successful Frank Sinatra shows, Tom has now expanded his horizons and his song list to create a feast for lovers of swing, including Sway, Just in Time, Beyond the Sea, L-O-V-E, Birth of the Blues, The Way You Look Tonight, Ain’t That a Kick in the Head? and Feeling Good. It also features classics such as I’ve Got You Under My Skin, Summer Wind, That’s Life and Mack the Knife.
And the Good Old Days Concerts’ favourite comedian, Al SHOWMAN, will tickle your funny-bone in a special opening appearance to get you in the mood for this fabulous show! Your feet will be tapping and hands clapping with this feast of Swing with Australia’s own, Tom Burlinson! We cannot wait to share this fabulous concert with you all!
