For well over a century the scores created for the Silver Screen and the Broadway Stage have become some of the most popular and celebrated music of our times! Our first concert for 2018 brings together two of Australia’s Music Theatre stars, MICHAEL CORMICK and CLAIRE LYON to delight you with the classics – from “Carousel” to “Phantom Of The Opera”, from Rodgers and Hammerstein to “Warsaw Concerto”!
MICHAEL CORMICK is one of Australia’s most versatile singers and actors, from his Mo-Award winning performance as the Beast in “Beauty And The Beast” to “Cats”, “Les Miserables” and “Phantom Of The Opera”. He has also appeared in TV series such as “Sea Patrol” and “Prisoner”.
Soprano CLAIRE LYON has rapidly built a reputation as one of the bright new stars of the Australian Musical Theatre scene with performances ranging from Opera Australia productions of “The Marriage Of Figaro” and “Die Fledermaus” to “HMS Pinafore”, “Phantom Of The Opera”, “Anything Goes” and “My Fair Lady”. Claire was also chosen to tour Australia and New Zealand with international superstar Josh Groban.
This programme also features concert-pianist BERNARD WALZ conducting the 16-piece Good Old Days Concerts Orchestra.
Don’t miss this extraordinary programme of the greatest music written for the Screen and the Stage!
